JPA is committed to improving the health status of community residents through optimizing the medical care delivered by our member physicians. The organization strives to stay abreast of new technologies and procedural advancements that have a proven track record in improving health care. Additionally, JPA physician members are very mindful of the out-of-pocket expenses most individuals now face when receiving health care. As such, JPA is seeking to find ways to keep the cost of health care down. For example, when appropriate, JPA physicians prescribe generic drugs and refer patients to after-hour clinics versus a hospital’s emergency room. JPA physicians also work to help patients “take charge” of their own health care. They provide health education materials and other resources to their patients
